Tobacco Free Florida and Students Working Against Tobacco, or the Flagler County Health Department’s SWAT team, will be at the Daytona International Speedway next week to present the track an award for going tobacco-free, according to SWAT Coordinator Jaffy Lee.

Flagler SWAT members will be part of a statewide group of 60 students, representing 22 North and Central Florida counties, to attend.

The event will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 19, at 1801 W. International Speedway Blvd., Gate 8. A press conference to present the speedway its award will begin at 2:15 p.m.

Jeffery Earnhardt, son of former NASCAR driver Kerry Earnhardt, will also be present to speak and, possibly, sign autographs.

SWAT is a statewide youth organization working to mobilize, educate and equip Florida’s youth to revolt against and de-glamorize “big tobacco.” It is a united movement of empowered youth working towards a tobacco-free future.
