If you are not one of the fortunate to enter the gates of Grand Haven, you will now find they are springing wide open.
From now until Sept. 1, a summer special is being offered that might shake your timbers.
The full membership initiation fee for non-Grand Haven residents is now reduced from $7,500 to $1,000 as a summer special. Entrants will receive all the privileges of a full golf member.
None of we so-called early bird residents in Palm Coast will forget the remarkable job Jack Nicklaus did for in building this golf course. As outstanding as it was then, the new owner has made it even better. From the island green, par-three eighth hole to the challenging back nine, it’s a beauty.

By the way, Grand Haven has always welcomed outside tournaments. Call Jason Bench at 445-2327.
The Grand Club
This is another favorite golf club about to snap its suspenders and assume the role of No. 1 in this part of Florida. Under the direction of new ownership, the Grand Club has a huge project in front of them, but when the green light goes on for the opening of Matanzas Course, get ready. These golf courses will be dancing to the top.
One big step forward is the summer golf rates for guests of members.
Cypress Knoll is now $27.95 all day; Pine Lakes is $29.95 all day. You haven’t enjoyed those figures from owners of the past.
And what about Matanzas, you ask? It’s on the way. Grass is being mowed to a playable length each week. But remember, this will take some time.
When all three course renovations have completed expectations, watch out.
The Grand Club of Palm Coast will be like a rocket headed for the moon proudly wearing the No. 1 logo.
Fourth of July
Fourth of July celebrations in Flagler Beach are planned, and even the local golf courses play a role. The Grand Club of Palm Coast (Pine Lakes and Cypress) donates its golf carts to the Flagler Beach Police Department each year for use throughout the day.
