Ernie Tykarski, of Florida Park Drive, has been recognized as the June Selection of the Month by The Garden Club at Palm Coast.
Tykarski moved to Palm Coast in 2004 from Danbury, Conn. He has enhanced the curb appeal of the front yard by adding bougainvillea pots on either side of the garage door and planting colorful perennials and annuals in the front.
The bed at the front entrance contains a double-trunked pygmy date palm, bottle brush, red hibiscus, Shilling hollies, variegated flax lily, bulbine, Mexican heather, begonias, alstroemeria, red baby sunrose, yellow daisies and purple salvia. Adding to the colorful selection of plants are purple petunias and pink penstemons around the lamppost.
The white picket fence at the front porch and in the corners of the yard planted with red knockout roses draw one’s eye to this landscaped yard.
