The Miss Flagler County Scholarship Pageant has been a Flagler County tradition since the 1940s. The pageant, which used to be held on the Fourth of July each year in Flagler Beach, is a preliminary pageant to Miss Florida USA.
At the on-stage competition, Haley Watson was crowned 2012 Miss Flagler County. She is 20 years old and is the daughter of Steve Watson and the late Dollie Sue Watson.
This year, Watson will be a senior at Daytona State College, where she is obtaining her business degree. She is the founder and president of May Day Memorial Charity Foundation, which is a non-profit organization that raises awareness of heart disease. Watson is also a professional surfer and has recently been accepted into the National Association of Professional Women. As a professional surfer, Watson travels a lot, but being born and raised in Flagler County, Watson said she has a special love for her home town.
Other winners are as follows: Miss Flagler County first runner-up, Chelsea Barney; second runner-up, Kerry Norberg; third runner-up, Alexa Miller; Miss Personality, Chelsea Barney; Best Bathing Suit, Haley Watson; Best Evening Gown, Haley Watson; and the 17th-annual Trez Frassrand Scholarship Essay Winner, Alexa Miller.
The Miss Junior Flagler County Queen is Emily Palisoc; first runner-up, Christen Barney; second runner-up, Tara Norberg; third runner-up, Kate Strickland; Best Dress, Hayleigh Tilton; and Best Casual Wear, Daviana Campbell.
The Little Miss Flagler County 8 to 11 Queen is Hannah Grace Blevins; first runner-up, Cyleigh Mae Barney; second runner-up, Gabrielle Wong; and third runner-up, Tori Phillips; Best Dress, Truus Ann van de Graaf; and Best Casual Wear, Cyleigh Mae Barney.
The Little Miss Flagler County 5 to 7 Queen is McKenzie Campbell; first runner-up, Jordan Hope Collier; second runner-up, Carly Hyers; and third runner-up, Riley Eddy; Best Dress, Riley Eddy; and Best Casual Wear, McKenzie Campbell.
