Rain and wind from Tropical Storm Debby threatened Palm Coast this weekend, but it was the 130 soccer teams competing in the 11th-annual Palm Coast 3-v-3 Challenge that invaded the Indian Trails Sports Complex.
This was one of the final qualifiers for the 3-v-3 national championships, which are held in August at the ESPN Wide World of Sports, in Orlando.
The tournament is put on by Challenge Sports, and the hosting club was FC United.
Rich Weber, vice president of programs and development for FC United, said the Challenge Sports officials were impressed with the facilities and are interested in adding another tournament to Palm Coast.
“It is a testament to a lot of hard work and dedication and strong partnership between the city and our club and supporting the ‘Prosperity 2021’ efforts and vision of the city,” Weber said.
