John Brady, of Palm Coast, will turn 70 Thursday, March 22. He celebrated his birthday on St. Patrick’s Day, Saturday, March 17, with 30 friends and family at a Celtic-themed surprise party thrown by his oldest son, John, also a Palm Coast resident.

“It’s amazing when you see people in your life — that people think of you enough to show up,” Brady said.

Brady and his wife retired to Palm Coast a year-and-a-half ago after a harsh winter in Pennsylvania.

He has eight children, 15 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

“Nothing can top this.” Brady said looking around the room at the party.
