FCAL celebrates arts

The Flagler County Art League hosted a series of events celebrating the arts March 10 through March 15.

The week included a collaborative event with the Flagler Youth Orchestra, the Flagler Playhouse and the Palm Coast Arts Foundation; a youth art workshop; a photography forum; and a presentation from a former member of the Florida Highwaymen.

At Anthony Neste’s photography forum, his message was this: No matter what the rules may be, the creativity of the artist is key. At the event, Vern Williams won a raffle to a professional-level photography workshop, and Flagler Palm Coast High School student Nicole Welsh won a student portfolio contest allowing her the chance to shadow Neste on a professional shoot.

Work from the students who participated in the workshop is displayed at the art league’s gallery, 160 Cypress Point Parkway, Suite 207C.
