A quick rearrangement of games and a 24-hour notice didn’t slow down the Flagler Palm Coast boys lacrosse team Wednesday night, as the Bulldogs beat Tallahassee Chiles, 5-4, behind Shane Noble’s three-goal performance.
The Bulldogs (7-3, 3-0 District 6) was able to out-defend Chiles. FPC got 25 shots on goal, but only managed to net five. Noble led the scoring with three goals and one assist. Cheyne Devens had two goals and one assist.
This was the first game of the season in which the Bulldogs didn’t have three or more scorers.
Through 10 games this season, the Bulldogs’ standout players are as follows:
Shane Noble: 35 goals, 12 assists
Wes Adams: 21 goals, 30 assists
Cheyne Devens: 25 goals, 13 assists
Ryan King: 73 faceoffs won
Conor Bertha: 89 saves, 65 goals against
Next up, FPC hosts Centennial High School (Roswell, Ga.) 12 p.m. Saturday, March 31. Centennial is currently ranked No. 3 in Georgia, according to FPC coach Ryan Andrews.
“We have some tough games ahead of us,” Andrews said. “If we advance past our district, we play with winner of the Ponte Vedra/Creekside bracket. Our goal now is to prepare for the postseason.”
FPC will be the No. 1 seed in the District 6 tournament next month.
