Searching for two ‘mails’
9:17 a.m. — First Block of Leidel Drive. Larceny. A victim stated that two packages disappeared from her mail. She advised that she and family had left for vacation on March 16, and that while they were gone a delivery of prescription medication along with a delivery of food dye arrived at her residence. She stated that when they returned home, the packages were gone.
She checked their delivery status, which confirmed that they had been delivered. A neighbor stated that three young teens on bicycles had been seen going through her mail on the day the packages arrived.
The victim stated that the package of prescriptions was valued at $45, and the package of icing colors was valued at $28. She advised that she has seen teens in the neighborhood acting suspiciously, and would like an extra watch on the area.
MARCH 22
Bike ‘lack’
9:13 p.m. — First Block of Eton Lane. Burglary-Residential. A victim advised that her sky blue beach-cruiser bicycle had been resting against the back wall of her screened-in back porch, and the screen door had been locked. At approximately 8 p.m., she went to go for a ride and realized the bike was missing. She stated that the door was still locked, and there were no signs of forced entry.
She believes that someone from the adjacent apartment observed the bike on her porch a few days earlier, then took it sometime on March 20.
The screen door was tested for prints, and two partial ones were extracted; however, they may belong to the victim’s roommate. The responding officer tried to make contact with the victim’s neighbors and canvassed the neighborhood for witnesses, with negative results.
MARCH 23
Window ‘pain’
4:27 p.m. — First Block of Ryecrest Lane. Burglary-Residential. A couple stated that someone took the screen out of their master bedroom window and climbed through the window. Once inside, the suspect(s) walked into the computer room and took one HP laptop, valued at $300, and one Dell tower, valued at $400. The victim stated that there are often teenage kids walking through their backyard, and he believes they may be responsible. Both stolen items were entered as stolen; however, the victim had already fixed and wiped down the window sill, so it was unable to be processed for prints.
Super Bowl fallout
9:23 a.m. — First Block of Birchview Place. Property Damage. A complainant advised that he believed graffiti was put on the wall of a vacant residence during the night. A security check of the residence showed that the doors and windows appeared to be secured and intact. The word “Giants!” was written in blue spray paint on the rear corner of the southern wall.
The property owner is still unknown at this time, and the complainant did not wish to have contact with law enforcement. Nothing further to report at this time.
