Rocky raccoon encounter
7:08 a.m. — First Block of Long Place. Animal Problem. A complainant observed a sick raccoon outside his residence early in the morning, and it would not move along. The raccoon appeared to have distemper or some other disease, with white discharge coming from its eyes and mouth. The responding officer notified animal control to retrieve the animal or have it tested for rabies. However, animal control no longer picks up or tests sick raccoons.
A decision was made to put the raccoon down, and it was buried in the woods behind the complainant’s residence.
Take it to the bank
2:23 p.m. — 100 Block of London Drive. Larceny. A victim stated that her house, which was in the foreclosure process, had several items stolen from it.
The house had been vacant for approximately two years and is owned and maintained by Bank of America.
The victim stated she would periodically check on the residence, and that when she checked on it April 17, she found that her lawn mower, a 6-foot ladder, two screwdrivers, a hammer and pliers had disappeared. There was no evidence of forced entry into the residence.
When the victim called the bank to reference the missing items, the bank employee was unsure what happened to the items and advised the victim to file a police report. There are no suspects at this time.
