More than 600 trees were given away Saturday, May 5, in exchange for non-perishable food items, at the city of Palm Coast’s Arbor Day Celebration, in Town Center.

More than 4,500 people made their way through the celebration throughout the day, which featured green vendors, music, kids activities and a 5k race.

The celebration, which is in its seventh year, is a requirement of being a Tree City U.S.A., said Carol Bennett, urban forester for the city.
