+ Snider Saint-Vil signs with Becker College
Flagler Palm Coast senior defensive tackle Snider Saint-Vil signed a grant-in-aid to play football at Becker College, in Worcester, Mass.
Becker is a member of NCAA Division III and competes in the Eastern Collegiate Football Conference. In 2010, the Hawks went 2-8.
Saint-Vil was also a member of the Flagler Palm Coast weightlifting team. After the 2012 season, Saint-Vil was the recipient of the T.J. McCracken Award.
+ Diajah Davis signs with Chattahoochee Tech
Flagler Palm Coast senior guard/forward Diajah Davis has signed her National Letter of Intent to play basketball at Chattahoochee Technical College, in Marietta, Ga.
Chattahoochee Tech is a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association and competes in the Georgia Collegiate Athletic Assocation. Last season, the Golden Eagles went 13-16.
As a senior, Davis averaged 21 points and nine rebounds a game. She was a three-year varsity started and scored more than 1,200 points during her career.
“She will be missed on and off the court,” said FPC coach Javier Bevacqua. “Flagler Palm Coast’s loss is Chattahoochee Tech’s gain.”
+ Alex White signs with Gardner-Webb University
Matanzas senior wrestler Alex White has committed to wrestle at Gardner Webb University, in Boiling Springs, N.C.
Gardner-Webb is a member of NCAA Division I and competes in the Southern Conference. Last season, the Runnin’ Bulldogs finished sixth in the 2012 Southern Conference Championships.
White, who went 125-49 during his four-year career at Matanzas, will likely redshirt his freshman season to add weight. He will likely wrestle in the 125-pound weight class in college.
White is a four-time member of the Florida National Team and a two-time state qualifier while at Matanzas. He intends on studying health and wellness.
White follows in the footsteps of both his parents, John and Viki. John White, who is the Matanzas wrestling coach, graduated from Gardner-Webb in 1994 after wrestling. Viki White graduated in 1996 and played soccer there.
+ Bulldogs boys lacrosse team raises $850 for breast cancer awareness
The Flagler Palm Coast High School boys lacrosse team donated $850 to the American Cancer Society Thursday, May 3, at the team’s annual awards banquet.
Earlier this season, the Bulldogs decided to donate a portion of their fundraising efforts to breast cancer awareness.
Throughout the season, the team wore neon pink stripes on their helmets in every game, sold T-shirts at school and at games and spent time doing other fundraisers throughout the season.
Wes Adams, a graduating senior and the team’s representative who presented the check last week, said: “This season, we wanted to show that we appreciate all the community has done for us by giving back to the community, as well.”
