Laura Gamba, daughter of Paul and Kathi Gamba, of Palm Coast married Scott Hey, son of Ron and Carol Hey, of Arlington, Texas, April 21, at Halifax River Yacht Club, in Daytona Beach.
The two met through mutual friends three years ago.
“I just finished kayaking with friends, and we were all exhausted and hungry,” Laura said. “My friend Teri decided to be sneaky and invited Scott along for lunch without telling me.”
Scott proposed on their back porch. The engagement ring was on the air tube of a new mountain bike he had also purchased for her.
“It took me a few minutes to figure out that the real gift was not the bike,” Laura said.
The newlyweds live in Flagler Beach.
