Lindsey Smolenski, of Palm Coast, and Ryan Detering, of Newport Beach, Calif., married April 21, at the Serenata Beach Club, in Ponte Vedra Beach.

The two met at the Ginn Championship golf tournament in 2008. The event was being played at Hammock Beach Resort, where Lindsey is a conference services manager. At the time, Ryan was working as the tournament sales and marketing director.

Ryan and Lindsey got engaged May 28, 2011, atop Point Loma, which overlooks the San Diego Bay and Pacific Ocean. Lindsey was led to believe they were meeting San Diego friends for the afternoon. After finding a quiet spot on top of the point, Ryan dropped to his knee and asked Lindsey to marry him.
