A buffet lunch at the Knights of Columbus is included with registration, as well as presentation from veteran Andrew Coughlan, who was helped by the Wounded Warrior Project and now works for the organization.
The 5.5-mile walk will kick off 8:30 a.m. Saturday, May 19, at Flagler Palm Coast High School. It will wind through Town Center, connect to Flagler County’s Lehigh Trail and return to the school.
A shorter loop is also available.
Early registration is $20, as opposed to $25 on the day. Relay teams are $100 early and $125 day of.
“It really is a great cause,” said County Commissioner George Hanns, who has been a main organizer of the walk. ”Most people would like to thank those who serve our country; this event is a way to give back.”
Rest stops, traffic control and roving assistance will be provided along the route. Flagler County is also looking for corporate and private sponsors, in addition to the Flagler Beach City Commission, to assist in covering expenses of the event.
