Potatoes are part of Flagler County’s roots. For more than a century, the spud was a staple crop and remains an important agricultural feature and iconic representation of the county’s agricultural heritage.

To celebrate the county's agricultural roots, the fourth-annual Potato Festival will be held 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 19, outside at Bunnell City Hall, at the intersection of East Court and South Lemon Streets, in downtown Bunnell.

The Bunnell Chamber of Commerce, the city of Bunnell and the Flagler County Chamber of Commerce are hosts of the event, and the presenting sponsor is Politis & Matovina.

There will be a kids’ area with inflatable's and a lineup of spud-friendly games throughout the day. The mashed potato eating and sculpting contests are two festival favorites with competitors and spectators alike.

Political candidates and incumbents will prepare and share their favorite potato dishes during the Political Potato Cook Off. Spectators can vote for your favorite with free samples until the food runs out.
