Somebody stole Miata-mobile
5:44 p.m. — First Block of Lakeview Lane. Burglary-Investigate. A victim advised that he left for vacation on May 2 and returned at about 5 p.m. May 8. When he opened his garage door, he found that his 2009 Mazda Miata was missing. Upon further investigation, he observed that his 51-inch television and several other electronics were also missing from the residence.
There were no signs of forced entry into the home, and the victim advised that all windows and locks had been secured. A dust for fingerprints revealed two latent prints on a watch box in the victim’s bathroom cabinet, from which jewelry had been stolen.
The victim was unable to provide any suspect information. He was given an inventory sheet to fill out and was advised to call the Sheriff’s Office when it was completed.
MAY 9
While you were sleeping ...
7:24 a.m. — 3000 Block of North Old Dixie Highway. Burglary-Residential. A victim stated that an unknown person(s) entered her residence while she was sleeping, between the hours of 11 p.m. and 5:30 a.m., and stole several items.
She left $20 in cash for her husband on the dresser, and when he got up it was missing. At that time, the complainant walked into the kitchen and noticed the window was open and there was dirt on the countertop. After checking the rest of the residence, she found the following items to be missing: one 32GB iPad valued at $700, one Virgin Mobile phone valued at $674 and $100 cash from the complainant’s purse.
A footprint was found on a small blue cooler by the outside window, and fingerprints were found on the window itself. No suspects have been named or identified at this time.
