The City of Palm Coast will host Palm Coast Unites in Remembrance 8 a.m. Monday, May 28, at Heroes Park, 305 Palm Coast Parkway.

This Memorial Day event will salute our national and hometown veterans and pay tribute to those who lost their lives in battle.

Guest speakers will include Palm Coast Mayor Jon Netts and VFW Post #8696 Commander Lorenzo J. Nacci. Imagine School at Town Center students, Daisy Girl Scout Troop #734 and the Sons of the American Revolution will offer poignant presentations. Palm Coast resident Angelique Viljoen will sing “The Star Spangled Banner.”

Light refreshments will be served.

Other events this weekend:
‘Aladdin Jr.’ — 7 p.m. Friday, May 25 and Saturday, May 26, at Buddy Taylor Middle School, 4500 Belle Terre Parkway. A musical featuring songs like “Friend Like Me” and “A Whole New World.”
 

Teen Chill Zone — 7-11 p.m .Friday, May 25, at James Holland Park, 18 Florida Park Drive. Middle and high school students are invited to enjoy music, video games, trivia and more. Cost is $2; an appropriate school ID is required. Visit www.palmcoastgov.com or call 986-3708.
 

‘Formidable Footprint’ Wildfire Exercise — 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 26, at Rymfire Elementary School, 1425 Rymfire Drive. Flagler Volunteer Services and residents in the R Section will join over 300 community response teams, neighborhood associations, community and faith based organizations and local governments across the U.S. that are participating in this national neighborhood exercise. The three hour tabletop event will focus on a wildfire scenario and is part of an on-going series of disaster exercises taking place in 2012. Lunch will be provided.
 

Low Cost Vaccine and Microchip Clinic — 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. turday, May 26, at the Flagler Humane Society, 1 Shelter Drive. Rabies and distemper cost $5 for both. Bordatella (kennel cough) and microchips are $15 upon request.

Dinner Dance — 4 p.m. Saturday, May 26, at the Palm Coast VFW, 47 Old Kings Road. Tickets are $12 each or 2 for $20 and include dinner, music by the Coconuts, entertainment and dancing. The public is invited. Doors open at 4 p.m., program begins at 5 p.m. Call 446-8696.

Daisy Drive — Monday, May 28, at Wal-Mart. Hosted by the Italian American War Vets.

Memorial Day Picnic — 11 a.m. Monday, May 28, at the Palm Coast VFW, 47 Old Kings Road. The flag ceremony will begin at 11 a.m., followed by the picnic. Food will be served from noon until 2 p.m. There will be music and dancing until 5 p.m. Tickets are $10 in advance or $11 at the door. Call 446-8696.
