A Pirate engagement

Francesca Verastegui, daughter of Dario and Pilar Verastegui, of Palm Coast, and Thomas James Hopkins Jr., son of Laura Dillon and Thomas Hopkins, of Colorado, recently got engaged.

The two met their freshman year, while attending Flagler Palm Coast High School. They soon transferred schools together, when Matanzas High School was built, and were part of the school’s first graduating class. They have a 3-year-old daughter, Isabella. Francesca is a registered nurse, and Thomas is a fiberglass technician.

The couple will be married June 9, at Jungle Hut Beach, with a reception at the Italian American Club.
