Want some fries with that shakedown?

1:47 p.m. -- 100 Block of Interchange Boulevard. Threatening phone call. The Ormond Beach Police Department was called to a McDonald’s due to threatening phone calls. According to the report, the suspect entered the restaurant Oct. 31 and ordered three large fries. The victim said the suspect was unhappy with his order and became loud and rude, and even told the employees he would show them how to do their jobs. The suspect also told the victim he was recording the incident and was going to put it on YouTube. The suspect called the location Nov. 1 to describe the incident to the manager in detail.

The suspect again called Nov. 3, asking if the owners of that location also owned another area location. According to the report, the suspect said he knew where the owner lived and said, “I think I’ll go knock on his door so I can talk to him and tell him about the problems and how poorly run his store is.”

The victim called the suspect, trying to resolve the situation, but the suspect insisted the manager on duty Oct. 31 be fired. He also said he knew where the victim lived. The victim said he hadn’t been threatened, but didn’t feel safe at home or for his employees at work. He wanted a report taken in case the suspect could be identified.

Gimme that tablet

1:39 a.m. -- 200 Block of Granada Boulevard. Robbery. The two suspects entered the store and wandered around, before one of them approached an employee and, according to the police report, asked to see a Craig 7” Android tablet. While the suspect was looking at the tablet, the witness said he started running towards the exit with it, followed by the other suspect. A man standing in the store witnessed the incident and attempted to stop the suspect, but while struggling with him, was charged by the other suspect and sustained injuries to his back. The suspects fled south, toward Atlantic Avenue, in a red or maroon car, police said. The injured man was taken to Florida Hospital Oceanside, after complaining of severe back pain and trouble breathing. Video surveillance was taken as evidence.
