Live free or 'diaper' hard

2:55 p.m. -- 1500 Block of Granada Boulevard. Theft. A loss-prevention officer at Walmart witnessed the defendant take multiple grocery food items off the shelf and put them into a large diaper bag, then leave without paying. The officer contacted the defendant outside the store and brought her back inside without incident. The defendant admitted to stealing the items and said she needed them for her child because she didn’t have any money. According to the report, she wasn’t carrying any method of payment. One of the responding police officers ran a check and found the defendant had more than two prior theft convictions. The defendant was searched by the officers and had 10 syringes and four credit cards that didn’t belong to her. Evidence was collected and the defendant was given a notice to appear and released.
