Even from across Old Kings Road this past weekend, residents could smell fresh tomato sauce wafting through the air. As the food tents got closer, the aroma of homemade Italian cuisine was enough to draw in those with only a twinge of hunger.

Meatball subs, sausage and peppers, mussels, fried calamari, pizza and zepolle were just some of the mouthwatering dishes available to the Italian American Club’s annual Festa Italiana.

The festival, which has been a Flagler County tradition for more than 20 years, featured not only food, but also vendors and a carnival.

The club uses the festival as a fundraiser and outreach to the community each year. Membership applications for Italians and non-Italians are available at the club, 45 Old Kings Road N.
