For 30 years, the Rotary Club of Flagler County has given back to charitable organizations throughout the county. This year, the club presented a $42,698 check to Flagler County’s charitable organizations at a Tuesday luncheon.
“There are many needs in Flagler County resulting from the severe impact our community took in the Great Recession, and government can’t do it all,” said Rick Staly, president of the club.
In addition to supporting several organizations, this year’s check provided support so that 10 Flagler County high school graduates can go to college with tuition assistance from the Rotary Club’s foundation.
The foundation arm of the club was established in 1982 and it’s a 501c3 organization. Over the 30 years, the foundation has contributed more than $500,000 to Flagler County.
“We are glad that we can help out our community, and we would like to thank the community for supporting our fundraising efforts,” Staly said. “Without the support of the community, none of this would have been possible.”
