Brianna Holman was on a mission Tuesday afternoon when she drove to Palm Coast, from St. Augustine, to collect a $300 debt. The trip ended with her being booked in the Flagler County Inmate Facility.
Holman, 20, of St. Augustine, faces seven counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after she unsuccessfully collected her debt.
Flagler County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a call at about 1 p.m. Tuesday to a home on Luther Drive.
Upon arrival, the responding deputy observed Holman in the median directly in front of the L-section home “holding a large knife and yelling,” according to the charging affidavit.
Holman was detained. Further investigation revealed that Holman showed up to the L-section home to collect the debt from Jeritz Jones, of Palm Coast.
When Jeritz told Holman that he did not have the money, an argument ensued until another resident of the home told Holman to leave, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Holman refused, and deputies said she then went to her vehicle and retrieved a large knife. According to witnesses, Holman threatened to stab two people, at which time one of the residents grabbed a baseball bat.
Deputies said the situation continued to escalate after a resident used the bat to strike the window of Holman’s vehicle. Holman got back into her vehicle, backed out of the driveway and then accelerated toward the people standing outside of the home, in an attempt to strike them with the vehicle, according to the report.
Holman lost control of the vehicle, however, and struck a Nissan minivan parked in the driveway.
“(Holman) struck the minivan with such force that the minivan struck the garage door, causing severe damage to the door and structure,” the report states.
After striking the minivan, Holman exited her vehicle with the knife in her hand and confronted all parties until the Sheriff’s Office arrived on scene, according to the report.
Holman was arrested by deputies as she stood in the median of the road, holding the knife and yelling in front of the Luther Drive home.
She was charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon (knife) and five counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon (vehicle).
She is being held in lieu of $7,000 bond on the charges.
