Like many of the visitors to the Birthplace of Speed Antique Car Show Saturday, Nov. 24, at Fortunato Park, Clarke Andrews, the owner of a 1925 Ford, takes classic cars seriously.
“He’s not for sale,” Andrews said of his prohibition-era truck. “He is a family member, been to this show for 35 years.”
Also like many of the car owners in the show, Andrews is a mechanic. So he’s careful to keep his ride pristine.
“I drive it all the time,” he said. “Spend a lot of time with it.”
Hosted by the Volusia Region AACA, the show featured more than 100 restored antiques, some of which received awards for their quality.
"It is a great car to drive around." David Evans, another car owner said. "One of my favorite things about driving it is, no matter where you go, people know that car and they will talk about it. So you get a lot memories from cars like that."
