The Ormond Beach Regional Library will host several events throughout December, including a performance by Kookie Ukes and a Master Gardener.

The Ormond Beach Regional Library will offer several free programs throughout December.
Master Gardener Lisa Brooks, 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, will present on ways residents can use flowers, herbs, leaves and seeds to make Christmas gifts.
Kookie Ukes will have a musical performance, 3 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5, for adults and children.
Library staff will put on a puppet show 3 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5, called “Let it snow!”
Visitors can also learn about Marineland’s Right Whale Project, 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, a program that pairs scientists and residents to protect North Atlantic Right Whales in their calving waters, off the coast of Florida.
And a representative from SCORE will discuss business plan-writing, 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, as well.

Splash pad closure
The Splash Pad at the South Ormond Neighborhood Center will close Dec. 1, for the winter. It will reopen in the spring.
Holiday blood drive
Join local firefighters and law enforcement officers at the Guns ‘N’ Hoses kick-off event, Dec 11 at D.B. Pickles, 400 S. Nova Rd., which opens up the annual holiday blood drive.
