The City of Palm Coast is supporting Flagler Beach Rotary Club’s Project Share by collecting Christmas toys and groceries for financially needy local families at city offices and at the city’s holiday events on Nov. 30 and Dec. 15.
From now through Friday, Dec. 14, toys and non-perishable food items will be accepted for Project Share at Palm Coast City Hall, 160 Cypress Point Parkway, Suite B-106; the Palm Coast Community Center, 350 Palm Coast Parkway N.E.; the Palm Coast Utility Office, 2 Utility Drive; all five city fire stations; Palm Harbor Golf Club, 20 Palm Harbor Drive; and the Palm Coast Tennis Center, 1290 Belle Terre Parkway.
Donations for Project Share can also be dropped off at the city of Palm Coast’s Holiday Tree Lighting 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30, at Central Park in Town Center, 975 Central Ave.; and at the Starlight Event and Parade Saturday, Dec. 15, also at Central Park. The Starlight Event will be noon to 6 p.m., with the parade beginning at 6 p.m. Tickets for the 70-foot Snow Slide and Snow Garden will be $5, but participants will receive a $1 discount with a donation of food or a toy to Project Share.
Now, in its 13th year, the Flagler Beach Rotary Club’s Project Share helps make Christmas dreams come true for needy children in Flagler County and Pierson. Last year, Project Share provided Christmas toys for 1,400 children, along with groceries and clothing.
New, unwrapped toys are needed for children from infant to 16; the need is greatest for older children. New and gently used bicycles and blankets are also being collected at Project Share’s main drop-off location at Eagles Nest Storage, 2601 Moody Blvd., Flagler Beach.
In addition, Project Share provides groceries each month for 50 financially needy families. Monetary donations are also accepted. Checks can be made out to Project Share and mailed to Flagler Beach Rotary Club, P.O. Box 2005, Flagler Beach, FL 32136.
Project Share was winner of Rotary District 6970's Best Local Service Project 2012 and is well known in Flagler County and in northwest Volusia County as a major provider of holiday items. The program works closely with Flagler County Schools Student Services’ Flagler Angels community program.
