Friday, Nov. 30 is a busy day in Flagler County. Not only is it the first day of the Rotary of Flagler County’s Fantast Light display, it is also the night of three other large events.
The seventh-annual Fantasy Light display at Central Park in Town Center will run from Nov. 30 through Dec. 30. The Fantasy Light event consists of a free self-guided walking tour around Central Park with 37 light displays, live and broadcast holiday music and holiday snacks and beverages available for purchase. New this year will be a North Pole Village nestled among the lights. Also new for this year is Santa's Merry Train Ride around the park for a nominal fee.
"Our Club enjoys providing this spectacular light display for our community," said Rick Staly, Rotary Club of Flagler County President. "It really sets a festive and family atmosphere for the holidays."
The grand opening will coincide with the city of Palm Coast's Tree Lighting Ceremony 6 p.m. on the same night, in Central Park.
In addition to the sparkling lights and ornaments, Santa will arrive by fire truck to visit with children. Toys will be collected for charity, and entertainment will be provided by Linda Cole.
The Flagler County Public Library will also host its annual Festival of Trees and Wreaths 6:30 p.m. Nov. 30. Organizations throughout the county have offered their original holiday creations. Starting at 6:30 p.m., entertainment will be provided by the Trinity Presbyterian Church Bell Ringers and the Solid Gold duo, with music of the 50s and 60s.
Ending the night, the Young Professionals Group and Rotaract of Flagler County have teamed up to host the fourth-annual Jingle Ball 7 p.m. Nov. 30, at Hammock Beach Resort. This year’s event will support three local causes: Christmas Come True, The Dolly Parton Imagination Library and the YPG Small Company Assistance Loan Enterprise Program.
Tickets are $57 each or $513 for a table of 10. Cocktail attire is suggested. There will also be a silent auction. For tickets, call 437-0106 or visit flaglerchamber.org.
