Caribbean culture invaded Daytona State College Saturday, Sept. 29, as the United Caribbean Cultural Association of Palm Coast hosted its annual Caribbean Festival.

This was the 10th festival for the group, featuring a parade of the Caribbean countries, talents in arts, fields of music, dancers and demonstrations, ethnic food and more.

Cynthia Hunt, president of the Caribbean Cultural Association, said the festival used to be held in June, which is Caribbean American Month, but the group moved it back to September because of the heat.

The highlight of the event might have been the food. Hunt said all of the food vendors sold out toward the end of the day.

The ribs and the beef patties were must-haves, Hunt said. “We’re already looking forward to next year."
