Greg’s Gang wins coed softball tourney
Greg’s Gang defeated the Pop Stars en route to winning the Sept. 29 coed softball tournament, which was used as a fundraiser to help Noelle Poppe, the daughter of Steve and Sarah Poppe.
Noelle was born with a rare birth defect known as omphalocele, in which the infant’s intestine or other abdominal organs protrude from the belly button.
“The fundraiser went great, and we met our fundraising goals,” said Lisa Bennett, who helped organize the event.
The double-elimination tournament featured eight teams and raised about $2,300, Bennett said.
