Flagler County agencies gathered Tuesday, Oct. 2, for the Flagler County National Night Out, held at Flagler Palm Coast High School.

The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office joined with neighborhood watches and victim advocate services for the crime prevention and awareness event, which was sponsored by Target.

The nationwide event was held in August, but because of the heat the past couple of years, Flagler County pushed back its event until October.

Flagler County Sheriff Don Fleming said the best safety tip he can give is to lock car doors and to not leave anything in plain sight. Also, if going on vacation, residents are encouraged to notify a neighbor or the Sheriff’s Office, and to set automatic timers on their lights.
