Imported tobacco
1:26 p.m. -- First Block of Rio Pinar Trail. Burglary. The victim visited Tennessee in May and told police the suspect asked him to purchase some tobacco for him, because it’s cheaper there. The victim said he bought 10 pouches of tobacco, which were valued at $106, and then made contact with the suspect to have him pay for and pick up them up. When the suspect came to pick up the tobacco, the victim said he didn’t have his checkbook and couldn’t pay. The victim told him he could have the tobacco once he brought back some money to pay for it. During this conversation, the victim says the tobacco was sitting on the backseat of an unsecured vehicle. He told police he thinks the suspect reached into the vehicle when he wasn’t looking and stole the tobacco. According to the report, the victim waited so long to report the incident because he thought the suspect would pay him, but he said the suspect won’t answer his phone calls.

He explained to the subject that the reporting citizen had the right to refuse him admittance, but the officer said the subject didn’t seem to understand and kept saying it wasn’t fair. The subject was escorted to his car and left. The officer said the subject showed no signs of being intoxicated and said he hadn’t been drinking.
