Sept. 26

Don’t vote for him!
6:30 p.m. — 3000 Block of North A1A Highway. Criminal Mischief. A deputy responded to a vandalism complaint. A resident complained that he observed a white male on a bicycle who stopped in front of the victim’s house, walked into the victim’s yard and pulled his Romney/Ryan political signs up, damaged them and threw them into the woods. The victim ran after the suspect but could not catch him.


Oct. 1

They even took my $17
8 a.m. — First Block of Permount Lane. Larceny. A victim said his Samsung tablet (valued at $500) and $17 cash were stolen out of his vehicle, which was parked in his driveway. The tablet had been located in the vehicle’s glove box; the cash, in the ash tray. The victim found the items missing after leaving his car parked unlocked in his driveway overnight. There were no signs of forced entry, and no physical evidence was discovered on the scene.

Texting terror
10:09 p.m. — First Block of Blare Drive. Hit and run. A vehicle was located and pulled over in reference to a hit-and-run accident. The driver of the vehicle said she didn’t stop because she didn’t think the accident was a big deal. She said she was texting while driving and didn’t know she hit a vehicle. The driver damaged the car it hit as well as two nearby mailboxes. Damaged totaled approximately $4,000. The driver was issued a citation and transported to jail.

Oct. 2

Dirt Devil
6:41 p.m. — 100 Block of Palm Coast Parkway. Shoplifting. A man went into the Walmart store and removed a vacuum cleaner from a shelf and proceeded to the customer service desk to return the stolen vacuum cleaner for a gift card valued at $138.93. An asset protection associate who observed this happen tried to stop the suspect, but he fled from the store and entered a vehicle that drove away. Flagler County Sheriff’s Office deputies located the vehicle on Cypress Point Parkway and pulled the delinquent car over.

The driver said she had given her nephew a ride to Walmart and waited in the car while he went inside to buy cigarettes. She said when her nephew exited the store, he entered her vehicle and demanded that she drive away. He soon jumped out of her car.

Deputies located the suspect and pursued him on foot. The suspect was arrested for retail theft, fraudulent returns and resisting without violence. He was transported to the Flagler County Inmate Facility.

Oct. 3

It’s not mine, I promise
6 p.m. — First Block of Bradmore Lane. Narcotics. A man turned over a small, clear plastic bag containing marijuana, saying he had found it in front of his daughter’s house. It is not known how the drug got there. The small baggie was submitted to Sheriff’s Office evidence for destruction.
