Ormond Beach artists will be featured in the Peabody Auditorium through Nov. 5.
BY THE OBSERVER STAFF
Paintings of scenes of Florida life, created by six different Ormond Beach artists, will be on display at the Peabody Auditorium, 600 Auditorium Blvd., in an exhibit set to run from the Everybody’s Flower and Garden Show, Oct. 26, through Nov. 5.
The free exhibition, displayed in the auditorium’s Rose Room Gallery, showcases work by Ormond Beach Foxfire artists. It is open to the public 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays and 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays.
The Foxfire art group was formed seven years ago, by Kay Botet, Rainey Dimmitt, Marilyn Masters, Karen Ann Patton, Barbara Perrotti and Carol Thornton. It is a mix of plein air and studio painters who meet to exchange ideas, explore new painting styles and mediums, and record Ormond Beach's natural beauty.
The group is also involved in local philanthropy, such as donating artwork to the Ormond Memorial Art Museum for charity auction and assisting in securing an Echo Grant for Ormond Beach’s Central Park.
Work from these artists has been featured at The Casements and Metropolitan Art and Frame, as well as other Daytona Beach, Flagler Beach and St. Augustine galleries.
