Ty Capps continues his PGA Tour journey
Ty Capps, of Palm Coast, will continue his dream of becoming a full-time PGA Tour player this week in Houston. He’s attempting to qualify as a full-fledged member.
Before leaving for Texas, Capps said he felt good about his chances.
“I’m playing well, and I feel good about my game,” he said.
Last week, Capps competed in the Web.com qualifier at Grand Haven. He shot a 2-under 70 and narrowly missed qualifying for the Web.com Tour event at the TPC Valley by two shots.
“Overall, I played very well except for two poor swings,” Capps said. “I made double-bogey on the island green (No. 8) and miscued on Nos. 1 and 17.”
The PGA Tour Q-School began Tuesday. Follow Capps’ results at www.pgatour.com/qschool. Capps will be playing in the first stage at The Deerwood Club.
