The Palm Coast chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. donated 267 pairs of pajamas and underwear to Mark Jones, CEO of the Volusia-Flagler Community Partnership for Children, at an October luncheon.
+Honor Air recognizes 12 Palm Coasters
Twelve men from Palm Coast recently participated in the 10th Volusia Honor Air flight to Washington, D.C.
Honor Air’s mission is to thank World War II heroes for their bravery and sacrifice by escorting as many veterans as possible to the new World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C., at no cost.
Local veterans on the flight were Jerry DiGiovanni, Alan Rosklski, Rene Mauboussin, Henry Slager, Herb Brucker, Henry Vendryes, Charles Earnshaw, George Hatzenbuhler, George Murphy, Stanley Sowinsky, Forrest Thomas and Charles Anders.
+AACS hosts contemporary dance troupe
The Center for Contemporary Dance returns to the Matanzas High School Auditorium 4 p.m. Nov. 3, at 3535 Old Kings Road N.
The troupe will bring the adaptation of "An Evening of Dance" through "socially-aware artists who see their bodies as powerful instruments for purposeful storytelling."
The troupe made their Palm Coast debut with Ambassador Andrew Young for the African American Cultural Society's 20th anniversary last October.
