VerdeGo Garden Center on U.S. 1, Bunnell, jumped into the season this week hosting a pumpkin patch all week, ending with a fall festival Saturday, Oct. 27.

Close to 3,000 people, goblins, ninjas and gnomes attended the 11th-annual festival, which not only included a giant bounce house and costume contest, but also gave organizations from various Flagler County schools a place to set up information booths, games and food.

For the past three years, the festival has focused on being a fundraiser for the school district because of budget cuts. Although as of Tuesday the final counts were not tallied, VerdeGo Administrative Manager Jennifer Laura said that the event was a success.

“We’re just trying to better things for our kids,” Laura said.
