The crowd was not shy Saturday, Sept. 8, at the Flagler Beach Museum’s annual gala held this year at the Black Cloud Saloon.

With a little more than 100 saddles sold, attendance was right on target for what the room could hold. There was still plenty of room for dancers to do their Boot Scootin' Boogie.

The gala, which acts as the museum’s main fundraiser each year, has explored themes throughout the decades. This year's event was country-themed. The event title, Boots and Bling, was a change from the traditional formal event, which Museum Director Teri Pruden believes draws a new crowd.

“For the last two years, the revenue (at the museum) has been flat,” Pruden said. “Our goal is to make sure that the museum doors stay open and then once that is stable, we can bring the programs back.”
