Missed call
12:15 a.m. — First Block of Village Lane. Larceny. A victim reported that she sold her iPhone on eBay for $234.37. The phone shipped out of Palm Coast, through Orlando, and to the purchaser in Chicago.
When the person who purchased the phone received the package, it was torn open and resealed, but the phone was not in the package. eBay refunded the victim who bought the phone his money, and UPS is conducting an investigation.
Sept. 6
Struck gold
12:52 a.m. — First Block of Edmond Place. Fraud. A victim reported that earlier on the morning of Sept. 6, she received a phone call from a woman from “Game and Lottery Company.” The woman told the victim that her husband had won a brand-new Mercedes and $2.5 million.
The woman told the victim to go buy a $505 green-dot card and that she would call back after 3 p.m. to see if the card had been purchased. The woman left her address with the victim. The victim felt violated and contacted the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office. An officer filed a report about the incident.
Bike brawl
2 p.m. — 4000 Block of Belle Terre Parkway. Robbery. A victim said he was riding his bicycle southbound on Belle Terre Barkway when two males jumped out of the bushes.
The victim said one of the men kicked out the front wheel of his bicycle, causing him to fall to the ground. While that man continued to kick the victim, the other reached into the victim’s wallet and took $60 from it. The victim was given a victim’s rights brochure and gave a written statement about the incident. The deputies patrolling the area were unable to find signs of an altercation on site, but an investigation is under way.
Scrambled eggs
10:15 p.m. — First Block of Blyth Court. Criminal Mischief. A victim reported that sometime earlier in the evening on Sept. 6, both of his vehicles were damaged by an unknown person throwing eggs at them.
The victim advised that both of his vehicles were parked in the driveway at his residence, one backed in and the other parked normally. The vehicles had cracked egg shells and contents from the eggs on them, but no physical damage.
The victim washed the eggs from his vehicles as the responding officer was on the scene. The victim gave a verbal statement about the incident, and there were no witnesses.
Fake twins
11:50 p.m. — 6000 Block of State Road 100. Fraud. A cashier reported that she found what looked like two fake $20 bills in her cash drawer. When the cashier tested the bills with a counterfeit detector pen, she confirmed that they were fake.
An officer responded and found that the serial numbers on both bills were the same. The fake bills were taken and will be submitted into evidence.
