Cathy and Dennis Sciortino, owners of Barkle N Shine self-serve dog wash and grooming salon, located at 1370 N. U.S. 1, held an appreciation day for Pine Trail Elementary School Saturday, Sept. 2. Between 10 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., 20% of all profits collected would be donated to the school.
“My husband and I opened the shop two months ago to offer a place to make cleaning your dog much easier and fun,” Cathy Sciortino said. “We also had $2 off on our self-serve washes.”
The Sciortinos gave a check of $25 to Pine Trail. “Not very noteworthy,” Sciortino added, but, for a brand new shop, she sees it as a good start toward the ongoing community drives they plan to hold throughout the year.
Barkle N Shine also offers a free self-serve wash to any owner who adopts a dog from a Volusia or Flagler County shelter.
