A Palm Coast man driving a Harley Davidson motorcycle early Friday morning was killed when he overturned while driving along U.S. 1, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

John Michael Robinson, 33, of Palm Coast, was heading north in the left lane on U.S. 1 around 12:22 a.m. Friday, The report did not state if Robinson was wearing a helmet. according to troopers.

“For an unkown reason, (Robinson) ran off the roadway into the grass median,” the report states.

Robinson lost control attempting to re-enter the left lane, and the motorcycle overturned, according to the report.

Robinson was ejected and came to rest in the grass median, the report states. The motorcycle continued north for a short distance before coming to rest facing north on its left side in the middle of the road between the left and right lanes.

Use of alcohol has not been ruled out, according to the report. The report did not state if Robinson was wearing a helmet.
