An unidentified white male motorcyclist was killed sometime Saturday or Sunday while driving along U.S. 1, just north of Bunnell, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

At approximately 10 a.m. Sunday, the Florida Highway Patrol received a call in reference to a motorcycle crash. Upon arrival, the motorcycle and the man were discovered on the grass shoulder of U.S. 1, just east of the roadway.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the motorcycle, a 2002 Harley Davidson, was traveling north on U.S. 1, left the roadway to the right for unknown reasons, and overturned several times, which ejected the driver, the report states.

The motorcycle came to final rest on the east shoulder in a partially wooded area, according to troopers.

The motorcycle was obscured from the view of passersby, as well as the body of the man.

“It is thought that the crash occurred sometime between the early evening Saturday, Sept. 22, and just prior to the discovery time on Sunday, Sept. 23,” the report states. “This will be determined at a later date post autopsy.”

The body was noticed by a passerby around 10 a.m. Sunday.

The crash investigation is ongoing, and next of kin hasn’t been notified. Alcohol has not been ruled out, according to the report.
