Flagler Beach attack leads to drug arrest

Jerrod Burnham, 19, was charged Sept. 21, for his involvement in a July 8 altercation with Lance Lohman. Upon investigation, Lohman, the victim in the case, now faces thee drug charges.

According to the incident report, a verbal altercation between Burnham and Lohman ensued and escalated into a physical fight, at Lohman’s Flagler Beach residence. Burnham was physically removed from the residence and told to leave the property.

Burnham then broke a window on the front of the residence, re-entered the John Anderson Highway dwelling and ran at Lohman, striking him in the head multiple times with a closed fist, according to a report.

Burnham was charged with burglary with assault or batter, a first-degree felony, and criminal mischief, a second-degree misdemeanor.

While investigating the physical disturbance, police found Lohman to be in possession of 7 grams of oxycondine, 3 grams of alazopram and 8 grams of marijuana. None of the controlled substances were prescribed to Lohman and they were reported to be in his possession upon the officer making contact with him.

Lohman, 22, was charged with possession of a schedule IV substance, a third-degree felony; possession of cannabis not more than 20 grams, a first-degree misdemeanor; and trafficking of oxycodone (4-14 grams), a first-degree felony.

Both Burnham and Lohman have previous arrest records.
