At Flagler Habitat for Humanity’s 20th anniversary dinner Tuesday, Sept. 24, each attendee was given a recipe for success.

The recipe read: “One part blood, one part sweat, one part tears; add love and dedication, season with humor, hugs and blessings. Mix well. Bake in 80-90 degree heat for approximately eight hours every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Serves an entire community.”

This is the experience of a Habitat homeowner, as more than 100 guests at the Hammock Beach Resort dinner learned as they listened to homeowner Barbara Posella share her family’s story.

“The change was so drastic that I’m very emotional when I talk about it,” she said, referring to the mold-ridden mobile home that was their previous residence.

Through Habitat, Posella said she and her husband are now proud to call their house home.
