The Palm Coast Rotary Club will host "An Evening with Barbra," a dinner theater fundraiser for the Flagler County Safe Sleep infant mortality prevention program, 5:30-9 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, at the Hilton Garden Inn.

Flagler County has experienced an increase in infant mortality for the first time in many years, said Patrick Johnson, of the Flagler County Department of Health. Since mid-2010, Flagler has lost six infants. Three of those deaths were caused by co-sleeping. The health department now actively screens parents concerning where their infants sleep, and they are finding parents who do not have a crib for their newborns.

Proceeds from An Evening with Barbra will be used to purchase inexpensive, safe cribs for infants.

Steven Brinberg, "Simply Barbra," will be the entertainment for the evening. His tribute to Barbra Streisand has been seen by audiences from Sydney to London to New York.

“Brinberg's show is well written, the banter witty and expertly delivered,” said Steve Murray, of “Cabaret Scenes.” “But it's the voice that blows me away. A two-time Mac and Bistro award winner, Brinberg has the voice down pat … the phrasing, the breathiness, the exquisite control. 'Barbra' is simply phenomenal.”

Tickets for the Italian buffet dinner and the show are $40 per person. Tables of eight are available for $320. For tickets, cantact Marjorie Marcus at 864-1289 or [email protected].
