Last weekend, the boats of the Anchor Boat Club started on a short cruise to the canal between North Clarendon Court and North Clearview Court, where they docked at the homes of Jackie and Bob Theirwechter, and Ruth and George Balla for the annual Blessing of the Fleet.
The Rev. Alberto Esposito, of Santa Maria Del Mar Catholic Church, went to each boat, blessed it and spoke with the owners.

Hours through April will be 1:30-7:30 p.m. Monday through Friday; hours and days of operation will expand later in the spring.
The pool will host a safety day noon to 6 p.m. Saturday, May 18, and will participate in the World’s Largest Swimming Lesson 11 a.m. June 18.
The Frieda Zamba Pool is located at 339 Parkview Drive. Daily admission is $4 adults; $3 for seniors and youth; and free for children under 2. Family memberships for the 2013 season are available for $250.
The city pool is named for local surfing legend Frieda Zamba, a four-time world surfing champion from Flagler Beach. Zamba won three straight titles from 1984-1986, then again in 1988, and is regarded by many as the greatest woman surfer of all time.
