FPC track-and-field takes 2nd, 4th at the Royal Invitational
The Flagler Palm Coast track-and-field teams finished second and fourth at the Royal Invitational March 28, in Orlando.
The boys team took second place with 117 team points. First Academy took first (129.5).
Colton Boyd finished second in the pole vault, reaching 12 feet, 6 inches. The 4x800-meters relay team took first, finishing in 8 minutes, 13 seconds. The 4x400-meters relay also took first, finishing in 3:22. Kadeem Williams continued his successful season, taking first place in the 110-meters hurdles in a time of 15.11 seconds.
The girls team took fourth place with 61 team points. Calvary Christian took first (100.5).
Armani Walker took third place in the triple jump and first place in the high jump. Paige Way took second in the 1,600-meters run, finishing in 5:29. Tierra Williams finished ninth in the 200-meters dash, crossing the finish line in 26.89 seconds.
Flagler Wolf Pack accepting registration
The Flagler Wolf Pack, a nonprofit youth tackle football and cheerleading league, is now accepting registration for the 2013 fall season.
The league is open to all Flagler County youth ages 5-14.
A minimum deposit of $50 id due at registration. Total cost is $150.

McManus lowers college ERA to 0.75
Sean McManus, a former Matanzas High School baseball player who graduated in 2010, tossed six scoreless innings on March 27 in Bellevue University’s 6-3 win over Midland University.
McManus allowed just five hits while striking out six to lead his team to victory. So far this season, McManus’ ERA stands at 0.75, having pitched 12 innings and allowing just one run, three walks and striking out 11.
Belleveue improved to 24-4-1 with the win and extended its winning streak to 18 games.
Three-run seventh powers Palatka past FPC
Fresh off a shellacking of Atlantic, the Flagler Palm Coast softball team lost to Palatka, 4-3, on March 28.
Palatka scored three runs in the top of the seventh inning to comeback from a 3-1 deficit to get the win.
Destiny Kelly, Sam Mittel and Breanna Blackledge all went 2-for-3.
Matanzas lacrosse falls to Chiles
Despite being tied 2-2 after the first quarter, Chiles went on to outscore Matanzas 9-3 over the final three quarters en route to a 11-5 win on March 28.
Matanzas coach Jeff Goren said Rudy Wohlfarth played a great game as a long-stick midfielder.
“He picked up every ground ball that was near him and he scored our first goal of the game,” Goren said.
Josh Holbrook scored three goals, Pablo Torres added one.
