Friends don't let friends slash tires
3:09 a.m. — 100 Block of Burbank Drive. Criminal Mischief. A deputy responded to a call concerning a suspicious incident. Upon arrival, he made contacted with the victim, who states she heard a car door close outside and saw a dark-colored Toyota or Nissan two-door vehicle pulling away.

The victim went outside and found both of her driver's-side tires and front passenger tire were slashed. This tire damage would cost approximately $480. The women further advised the deputy that the possible suspect was an (expletive) and a former acquaintance of her son. The deputy checked the area, but found no evidence of the suspect or vehicle.

Trail of copper gone cold   
10:39 a.m. — 100 Block of Seattle Trail. Theft. The deputy responded to a residence in reference to a theft. The victim is employed with a real estate company and is preparing to list the home. The victim stated the home has been unoccupied for a year and on this date he noticed that a large amount of copper wire was missing. The wire was cut just above the ceiling line in the attic space of the garage. The estimated value of the wire is $300. The investigation revealed that possible entry was through the sliding glass door, which was pried open with an unknown tool leaving a half-inch pry mark.

There are no know suspects, and the victim stated that the theft could have occurred between March 2012 and this date.

March 31
In an attempt to win her back ...
10:26 p.m. 100 Block of Palm Harbor Parkway. Criminal Mischief. A deputy responded to a call in reference to a victim’s vehicle rear windshield being broken out by his girlfriend’s ex-boyfriend.

The victim and his girlfriend were enjoying their time in a local pub with a few friends when then saw the ex-boyfriend. Soon after seeing him, they noticed he promptly left the pub, punching several garbage cans, as well as knocking over a paper rack outside the businesses.

The victim and his brother told the ex-boyfriend to leave the area. However, the victim and brother noticed the suspect walk toward the area where the victim’s car was parked and soon later heard a smashing sound. The victim went over to his car and saw the suspect hitting his back windshield, then get into a vehicle parked behind the victim’s car and drive away. When the deputy examined the back windshield, he noticed a blunt object had struck it four times, from the way the glass shattered.

He also observed a large dent in the driver side door. The estimated total cost of the damage is valued at $1,500. Photographs were retrieved as evidence.

April 4 
Stories we tell the mailman
10:42 a.m. Palm Coast Substation Old Kings Road North. Petit Theft. The victim made contact with a sergeant in reference to a theft complaint. Upon investigation, the victim stated that around 3:30 p.m. April 3 the mailman delivered his medication to his front door. When examining the medication, the victim found it was open and three pills of his anticonvulsant were missing. The victim stated he reported this incident to the mailman. Due to the lack of suspects or leads, no further action was taken.
