Free jeans and smokes? Who says crime doesn't pay; and, a motorcycle forsaken at an intersection.

Heist of the century!
11:40 a.m. — 400 Block of John Anderson Drive. Burglary conveyance. The Ormond Beach police officer responded to the scene in reference to a bicycle theft, but he was told when he arrived that only a pair of blue jeans and two packs of cigarettes were stolen from his vehicle.
The vehicle had been parked all night, and there were no signs of forced entry.
The officer dusted the car for prints, but none could be found and no suspect information could be provided.
April 12
Now you see it, now you don't
5:28 a.m. — Intersection of John Anderson Drive and Orchard Lane. Suspicious vehicle. An Ormond Beach police officer found a motorcycle, which had damage to both sides and two helmets on top of it. But there were no signs of the owner.
A Volusia County Sheriff's Officer deputy responded to the registered owner’s residence, but there was no answer at the door. The officer checked with residents in the neighborhood to see if anyone heard anything.
A 24-hour tow sticker was placed on the motorcycle, and at 7:41 a.m. that day, the motorcycle was gone.
