Just the necessities

12:39 p.m — 200 Block of Nova Road. Trespassers. A grocery store employee witnessed a woman attempt to steal a gallon of milk and a pack of bacon.

The store didn’t press charges, but did have the woman trespassed.

Homeward bound

1:06 p.m. — 300 Block of Forest Hills Boulevard. Animal complaint. An unknown woman found a dog and feared it might be hit by a car, so she gave it to an Ormond Beach woman who passed her on the street. The Ormond Beach woman called animal control to pick up the dog.

The community service officer attempted to contact the owner but ended up leaving a message with a neighbor after they couldn't be reached at their residence.
